Porto, much more than wine

What to see in Porto?
If you want to see Porto in all its intensity you should not stay in its historic center, you should also cross the Douro to look out for Gaia and enjoy its gastronomy.

The five things you can’t miss in Porto are:
- Sé Cathedral: The Sé Cathedral of Porto is in the heart of its historic center, and was built between the twelfth and thirteenth century, being of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque style. In itself is one of the great symbols of the city, and is a great starting point to visit the center.
- Church and Clérigos Tower: They are two different buildings but both have the same charm. If we have to highlight one in these lines it would be the Tower, since from its 76 meters (and 240 steps) you will have the most spectacular panoramic views of Porto.
- Bridges of the city: Porto is also known as the city of the seven bridges, because they are precisely the ones that cross the Douro from side to side, not only serving as an element of communication by land, but also giving a special charm to the city.
- Wine:As you may well know, Port wine is world famous and sought after, so what better way to taste Port wine than in the city itself? Our advice is that, if you want to taste the authentic cellars, cross the river to Gaia.
- Cod and francesinhas: Gastronomy in Porto has two clear aspects. On the one hand the cod, of which they have more than 365 ways to prepare it and, if you want something more informal, the ideal is a francesinha, a «sandwich» that will not leave you indifferent.
